Education Must Exist Regardless of Actions that Limit Dreams 
The Emerald Scholarship was created to help do away with one of the most common issues minority student scholars face in their matriculation in college, and that issue is lack of financial support. Progressive Black Men, Inc. believes that through communal uplift and economic empowerment, we will be able to help eradicate some of the negative stereotypes placed upon African- American males in our communities. Many African- American males decide against pursuing post- secondary education because financial resources aren't available to them. Progressive Black Men, Inc feels that it is our responsibility to aid those who envision a quality education but need a little financial support to make their vision become a reality.
The Emerald Scholarship is a book scholarship provided by the Distinguished Gentlemen of the Florida A&M University Chapter of Progressive Black Men. This scholarship is intended to assist and encourage outstanding scholars at the university and reward them for their diligent efforts and their strong desires to complete their college education. The book scholarship is directed toward minority male students with career interests in all majors and fields of study in the pursuit of a bachelors or masters degree. The Emerald Scholarship Program is open to juniors and seniors who have successfully completed at least three years of academic excellence and demonstrate a financial need.
